Hi I'm David and this is my website. Welcome!

I developed the site initially as a way to showcase and enhance my web design skills but hope it becomes more than just that.

Since around the year 2000 advances in technology have given rise to a new kind of IT nerd, aka the 'Digital Nomad'. You might be wondering what exactly is a 'Digital Nomad', like me a couple of years ago? Essentially it is someone (generally in IT) who is able to move around the world and make a living while doing so. I'm a computer programmer and love travelling so I'll be honest seeing others live this life while being stuck in a London office drinking overpriced coffee made me slightly jealous!

With my Tier 5 UK visa (I'm an Aussie btw) coming to and end in August 2017 I decided to leave my job and travel through Central/South America while doing some part-time remote work. I had a great time and realised while doing so that I was alot more productive working remotely than in an office.

Since 2012, when I went on my first overseas trip to Europe I've had a severe case of the Travel Bug. Fast forward five years and I've now visited 57+ countries, worked in 6 countries and still haven't been able to find a cure. Check out my never ending bucket list

I'm skeptical the Digital Nomad life is as good as social media accounts make it out to be but I like the idea of not being stuck in the one location and being able to get a good balance between life and work. My aim is to now get full time remote employment and make this happen.

I would also like to share useful information about three of my passions:

  1. Travel
  2. Photography
  3. Programming/Web Design

I like taking photos and videos of the places I visit. If you would like to see some of my work, check out my gallery and videos.

Thanks for visting the site and I look forward to sharing my journey, helping others and connecting with other like-minded people.

Cheers,
Dave
